The Worst Roofing Job Ever! This Tops Anything I have Seen in 25 Years of Roofing
Video link you can share:
– (In this video Drew was asked to Inspect a roof after there were things that looked funny from the ground. Drew Went up on the roof and this is what he found. Shingles that the nails were shoot threw the shingles and will never hold up to the wind we have in our area. We live in SE NC and the wind is bad a lot threw the yr. We have to deal with bad storms and that is the reason this roof had to be done in the first place.

I appreciate the video but not sure if telling people to hire local is the best answer. There are horrible roofers everywhere. The crew that did this roof I’m sure have done roofs that’s local to them. I say do homework. Get references. Listen to how they talk. I do more roofs out of town than local. Most of the time I’m out bid because local crews here will go low bc most people go with the cheapest estimate. You get what you pay for. Good quality work is to be respected, not a location on a map. I take the upmost pride in my job and always make sure it’s done right the first time. Can’t tell you how many roofs I have replaced or fixed locally and out of town. Love your videos! It’s nice to know there are roofers who care as much as we do
Drew’s Roofing & Home Repair I don’t think you should look at it like that. When you hire a roofing company, you never want them to come back. If it’s done right you won’t need them
True that but if you do need them because you have a storm or something it would be nice for them to be here to fix your roof this is the kind of contract as we have around here https://youtu.be/O4oQ9a3ECPU
Drew’s Roofing & Home Repair looks like her local roofer sucked! Lol
I have never understood going with the lowest bidder. I specifically AVOID the lowest bidder most of the time, because where are they cutting corners? I want good work and I’m willing to pay for it.
You got that right
Your phone went off at the perfect time.
Definitely did a terrible job
I also thought it was part of the video ?
No that was an accident but it did come on at the right time
Lol, I thought you added that sound affect in at first.
I know right. Lol
Maybe they were thinking that two 1 1/4″ nails would be about as good as one 2 1/2″ nail.
???
We need a 2020 update on this roof!
I don’t do ridge vent a lot, but when we do it’s hand nailed down with 2 1/2” nails. None of that hanky panky when You do it by hand with the right nails
I agree I would never use a gun nail on the ridge vent
Rip everything off and do it right! What a waste of materials!
We need to teach the roofers how to adjust there nail guns and make sure to use there nail guns properly its very important on how the air gun is shooting into the shingles especially when the weather is hot
I agree
If someone is building anything for anyone and charging money for it, I would hope they would know the basics such as adjusting their guns. Unfortunately many people that hire contractors don’t know the right questions to ask. I would say forget the roofers, if they cant even adjust air pressure they don’t need to be roofing. what we need to do is teach customers what to look for when hiring a contractor.
With any potential customer I actually tell them even if they don’t hire me for what ever reason, these are the things you look for and ask when hiring a contractor. Unfortunately a lot of customers will take the lowest bid and never research beyond the price.
Great inspection. Glad your a real roofer.
Ill repair it by hand. It will take about two buckets of nails plus ten nails per section of vent of 2.5″
were those gun nails on ridge vent? looked like 1 3/4″ nails, didn’t even look like they nailed ridge vent down first, then come back and cap it with 2 1/2″ nails
thunderbird97 They nailed the ridge vent down on the ends and some in the middle mostly just the ends and then they used gun nails inch and a quarter to nail the ridge caps on stupid I don’t understand what I was thinking
When you lift the ridge, we can see nails hanging lol
I need work done too and I am afraid of getting scammed again.
Dang it I wish I were there to help
Do not do a year off. I canfix it. Except the broken plywood. That section must be repaired
I can’t believe some of the things people do nowadays and think they can get away with it
I would fix the ridge cap and leave the rest of the roof where I live I won’t have wind that would blow off those shingles
We do
Yea its bad but if it doesnt leak or blow off whatever
That was perfect timing for your phone to go off lol.
I know and to be honest with you it startled me a little bit ?
well the best way, put all out, and begin to work, i think even you must controle the roofstructure
good luck
Thats your house lol or if its not just next time help your friend so it wont happen again even if it takes a month it can save the roof longer from your inspection right
Help friend after months of rest and wont be mistakes inspect your help buddy
instructions are on the packaging
G Boucher I agree
2:30 sound the alarm.
The funny thing is just as I was showing that my phone rang LOL
@Drew’s Roofing & Home Repair lol
That was funny my phone went off just as I was talking about the ridge vent LOL
A new siege car and he will be fine! I have seen so much worse, well so far that is!
Damm! I literally feel chest pain like it happened to me. $$$$$$$
That’s the way I felt
