You are quite the handy-man. I enjoy all your videos, especially the bus videos. Thanks.
Thanks much! I keep trying to get back to the bus to finish up a few things and paint, but I’ve been busy with a few other jobs. But the bus is still there calling out my name! 🙂
Doing a simple storage building over singles, this was exactly what I needed! Thanks! And subbed, love the chainsaw stuff, idk how you get up those trees and talk at the same time. Beast mode.
Most excellent! Good luck with the roof!
I have a great bedding, believe me, it is a good product, I want to invite you to try it out. I believe you will say: good products, then share them with many people and help them find this good product.
Sure looks nice when it’s all done! My house and out building are all metal roof! great job!
Yeah, I love the stuff. I’ll be doing a few more metal roof jobs this summer … looking forward to it!
Thanks for the help. I just got my first lil roof project and just wondering how much did u cut where the cap sits?
Alright I’ll make sure to do so thanks for the help. God bless you
The ridge just needs a few inches between pieces … if you get the sheets the right size, you won’t have to cut at all. It all depends on the size of your roof
I would like some advice on what to do if my sheets start running off course?
OH yes, that can be a problem. The deal is that you can squish down the raised portions of the roof or compress them to get the sheeting back on track. This video goes over how to make them straight again at about the 21st minute point: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6X6rcSkJRAs&t=1291s
Hay man how are you doing I was wondering are you still going to work on the school bus and painted it
@metaspencer oh I see thanks man
My friend the paint job is going slow because I’ve had so many other jobs to do, but I’m still hoping to get it done soon!
Great video. You’re a hard working man. But your arm looks very painful, and sore . You should probably cover that.
I just noticed that in the video! It’s actually a burn that I got on a previous welding job and it’s fortunately healed up by now. I know: kind of gross to see in the video! 🙂 Anyway, thanks for checking out the project
Thanks man nice helpful video!
On good, that’s what I like to hear! Good luck out there in roofing land!
Overlapping roof panels? Screw location and interval?
Overlap one rib not two. I put a screw in each valley
No vent ? No put the paper the shingles. First put the paper. And put the wood.
??⚒️????✍️
One thing with working with tin it’s seems like you always get a rippel somewhere along the line especially of comes your trim
The worst ripple I have ever seen was when they put the finished tin on and they were working for both ends to the center
Oh wow! Yeah it’s fussy stuff
Man. I wouldn’t put that on somebody’s house ?.
back garage 🙂
Great job! The only disadvantage, the guineas trying flying up there, and they slide right off!
Poor birds! We really messed with their habitat 🙂
I’m going to be installing metal roof on a straight leentoo roof. What is your recommendation to start and making it perfectly square? I don’t want to wrestle each panel trying to keep the edge straight. Thank you
First I’d say check your roof for square … it’s it’s square your sheets will go on nicely if the first one is aligned. If you need to fudge things, just do it gradually over time
Nice job, man!
Thanks!
Excellent video! I have a similar roof that I would like tackle, the only difference is that I have a turbine vent installed on the roof. Any suggestions on how I would install the panels around it. Thanks.
After removing the turbine so you just have a round hole to cut, I’ve done vents like that two ways: just measure when you get to that panel, then cut the roofing. The other way to do it is to make a cardboard version first that you cut, just so you get it right
@LONNY TERRITO you bet! good point
You could remove the turbine vent and install a ridge vent.
How far apart are you placing the 1×4
I think we went with 24″ but you could go even closer if you’re worried about it
What is the purpose of the foam strips? I am getting ready to do my garage and didn’t purchase the foam. Is it necessary?
I’ve installed the roofing both ways, with and without the strips. If you leave them out you may get snow and ice up in there, if you live in a cold climate. Bats can get in there, too, in my experience. With all that said, foam doesn’t last forever so is probably not going to solve those problems forever
