essentially you’re applying all the same techniques and materials you’d use to make a fiberglass boat. screw the eye protection…..you night want to use a respirator with all glues epoxys and resins you’ll be into.
The eye Protection is really necessary… remember a guy doing fibreglassing on ductwork in the Pharma Plant i worked in, he was over a bucket of resin and glassing up strips of Matt next to him on his hands and knees, just then he dropped his brush into same and had only just with Glasses on…Plop, he was on the ground roaring like a child, i grabbed him and ran him off to the nearest mains water, operated Eye Wash Station….I forced open his eyelids open as the natural reaction is to keep them shut tight, irrigated same for ten minutes… he was seriously thankful for my efforts , his Boss was delighted… Lucky for the Lad as a younger man i had worked in a GRP Boatyard on the Mechanical side so i knew what to do… the Boss a few weeks later dropped down to the Plant, Security asked me over my Radio to come to the Gate House told me at the Gate to come out into the Car Park and pulled a bottle of Chivas Regal 12 Year Old out of the Boot…Great result all Round…
Great video and excellent information. I’ve been looking to such a product like this one for vacation home. Does that work well on very hot and humid climates, specifically on concrete roofs?
Very good presentation!! Yet it clearly reveals (at 5:40) that the lower edge drip trim could have been wider (120mm min) on the horizontal plain so it can bridge the joined timbers and be fixed directly to the main decking material.. This looks like a potential weak spot for future cracking due to movement. Wood is always moving yet fibreglass is a rigid material. *Looks like on this roof the boys attached the facia board after the decking material was put on. Regardless, have confidence this roof will last 🙂
Yes, but it has to be clean particularly if there has been any tar products applied to it the past. Also to ensure that the resins bond properly a primer has to be used such as g4 damp seal. http://www.cfsnet.co.uk/acatalog/G4_Damp_Seal.htm
im am fibre glassing a roof for the first time , it is about 34m2 , i have ordered Heavy Duty 600grm Winter Fibreglass Roofing Kit . is 600grm adequate, some people are using 450grm and doubling, what do you suggest.
Hi, I am planning to lay porcelain tile with exterior flexible adhesive above the cure it fibreglass, do you think it would work? please advice. Thanks

but could it crack under heavy hail ,walking on or ladder feet not on boards? Cost wise, how does this compare with the new liquid rubber systems?
Nice job. But you are placing the GRP on a wooden board, my question is Can I Apply the fiber glass on a concrete roof?
I want to repair my leaking flat concrete roof. Will this material crack during an earthquake?
Where’s the safety scaffolding and other PPE, seems very unprofessional to me.
Thanks for the video , where can i buy this stuff , cos im gonna be doing it in couple of says
P Sherman wallaby Way
just one question , where can I get that system (cfs) in canada , who I can contact ? much appreciated! !

I’m thinking what you’re thinking after seeing this.
1:07 add a foot to that ledge, wait for a good rain followed by a hot day and you got a free hot tub.

Nice job with the roof.10/10 for that.
Brilliant demonstration. Thank you.
Great professional job, can I use CFS on a concrete roof?

no air circulation between wood and coating
, no chance to work under different temperatures, winter, summer, this is a method for self-doing.
1/2 hour break and very high lol

Great video! I missed the time involved from start to finish of a project that size. Also, what is the cost for a roof the size you completed?
