Cabin in the Woods Part 13: Installing Standing Seam Metal Roof
In this episode of Cabin in the Woods, we start installing standing seam metal roofing. In my opinion, the best metal roofing product available for you home! I know I have talked about this roof system for quite a while, and we are finally starting the process of prepping our standing seam panels, installing them, and it is look glorious.
Installing the standing seam metal panels is actually quite easy, and for the most part, it all is. However, to make it even easier, you must understand the process and proper layout. Knowing this will make the standing seam install much easier. In this video, the standing seam we are installing is about as easy as it gets. We are only installing straight runs and at this point, we don't have to install any of the trim details.

Standing seam looks nice but how much dose on charge for that type of detail
Awesome looking roof!, curious why you don’t have/use the notchers on the snap table pro?
@alvin rieske Its not. That’s the lift they’re on that is swaying. They’re 14 ft in the air.
why is the building swaying answer in your you tube site
Kyle, please post videos! I had a small domestic Incident and was summoned 3 days rest. Instead of watching useless crap I’d prefer entertaining and educational videos of high quality like yours.
Ha “ running in general is fairly miserable”. I was thinking the same thing. I know how hot it was this last week not far from you guys. No way I would be running. Lol. More like falling
I find your attention to detail and neatness to be inspirational. Cheers from South Australia.
There are lots of us that would like to see your bending process on the panels and most importantly , your technique for bending the crown. Thanks ? great video
Greg is a gorgeous human. He shimmers in that sunlight…
Absolutely enjoyed seeing this part. Labor of love .
When in Rome, there’s no time like the present. Love it. Also, the sped up filming reminds me of old time movies, like Keystone Cops. Hilarious. All around I feel well informed by this video. Thank you!
I’m with Greg, trim the beard to stubble , you’ll look as sexy as that standing seam roof ??♂️
Parabéns muito SHOW abraço aqui do Brasil ??????????
Funny, the way the camera is mounted makes the building look unstable.
I thought it is the other way round 🙂
@Giovanny Padilla Yep. When those powerful calves start moving the building is bound to sway. It’s physics. It’s a good thing Greg doesn’t power-walk for exercise, it’d slow the earth’s rotation.
It’s like a Hollywood camera trick to simulate an earthquake.
It’s by design.. They call it a floating barn for a reason.
@RR Buildings I like the shake, it always trips me out. Thought Greg was putting some weight on those calves when he hopped on the roof and it shook.
Get those gains Greg
Hey! I see why it’s called standing seam, Greg stands on the seam and walks up it to lock it in place. Ha ha. Great job guys. I always enjoy your work.
That’s why Greg does a funny walk up the roof! Lol
yes! I’ve been hoping you’d do some standing seam since I put it on my roof last fall, now I know how to finish the edges ?
Love your videos Kyle. Made me want to get into carpentry so I’m going to take my test to get into an apprenticeship. Thank you for everything you do
“What weighs more, a pound of rocks or a pound of feathers” ? ? ? ?
Yeah that one got me too what weights more they both weigh the same ?
I love this roofing works of yours! Sooooo neat and nicely done! I wish I have roofs like this in my country and contractors like you that is so detail & neat.
I sweat like a horse and girls have told me that it’s sexy. Just letting you young fellas know.
Love that standing seam roof. Love the way you work and how you explain all the little details to your audience. Can’t wait til the next episode.
I scoff at your “humidity”, lol! Greetings from Atlanta ?
Love y’alls work! Really appreciate and enjoy your and Greg’s banter as y’all work! Keep ’em coming!!!
Close ur eyes this guy sounds just like unboxing therapy ???
